Take the First Step

Nicole Goncalves-Krysinski is a Senior Attorney at Dow Divorce Law, P.L.L.C.

With more than two decades of litigation experience, Nicole is known for strategic, meticulous, and commanding advocacy in high-conflict divorce and custody matters. She has extensive experience handling high-net-worth divorces, complex financial litigation, and contentious custody disputes. Nicole is particularly passionate about protecting parent-child relationships and challenging the weaponization of children during litigation.

Nicole understands that clients often come to the firm during the most traumatic and destabilizing periods of their lives. She believes divorce litigation requires not only relentless case preparation, but also careful client preparation. From the outset, Nicole works closely with clients to ensure they understand the legal process, the strategic implications of their decisions, and the realities of litigation. Her approach is rooted in the belief that thoughtful preparation reduces uncertainty and empowers clients during extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Nicole approaches every matter with the understanding that divorce litigation is frequently a war of attrition. For that reason, she dedicates equal energy to negotiating favorable resolutions while meticulously preparing every case for trial. She firmly believes that settlement discussions should never stop, even during trial itself, and that thorough preparation is one of the strongest tools an attorney can bring to the negotiating table.

A strong advocate for fact-driven custody determinations, Nicole believes every parent begins with equal custodial rights unless proven otherwise. She is committed to ensuring that cases are evaluated on facts, credibility, and the best interests of the child, rather than assumptions, stereotypes, or litigation gamesmanship.

Born and raised in Southern California, Nicole’s commanding courtroom presence and direct litigation style are unmistakably New York. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a minor in Spanish, before receiving her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.

Nicole is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
